“Urban Cleanup” campaign”

July 13

Instilling a culture of civic responsibility and combating air pollution are among our key objectives.
In line with this goal, an “Urban Cleanup” campaign was held on Sunday (9/9/1404), involving the leadership, faculty members, staff, and postgraduate students of Dawat University.
Initiated by the Directorate of Postgraduate Programs, this symbolic campaign aimed not only to clean up the environment but also to promote a culture of social responsibility and collective solidarity, while raising public awareness regarding environmental protection. The event began with the distribution of necessary supplies—such as gloves, trash bags, masks, and municipal-style vests—to the participants.

Then Dr. Sher Ali Zarifi, the president of the university, gave the opening speech and the campaign was started under the management of Dr. Mohammad Arif Fasihi Dowlatshahi. The cleaning route continued from the university gate to Shama intersection (about three kilometers). At the end of the campaign, Dr. Mohammad Arif Fasihi Dowlatshahi, the head of postgraduate programs, and Dr. Enayatullah Khalil Hadaf, the deputy director of scientific research, thanked all students, staff and officials of the fifth district for their participation and emphasized the usefulness of such programs by the university. The active presence of professors, staff and students demonstrates the commitment of Dawah University to participate in the development of the community, and the level of coordination and cooperation of the officials of the fifth district of Shawarali in providing equipment and logistical support is also commendable. In this symbolic campaign, a significant amount of Waste was collected along a three-kilometer stretch and loaded onto vehicles for removal. This initiative demonstrated that academic institutions can play a pivotal role in environmental protection and the improvement of air and water quality—thereby enhancing community well-being—through collective action. This success could serve as a starting point for more organized and expansive future programs, transforming Dawat University into a model of social responsibility and a driver of community development. Here is to a clean city and a dynamic society.
